WONT IT BE TOO LATE??

Though intentions about each other is crystal clear
there is one thing in my mind that is there as a fear
that when i decide to come back to you at a later date
by then, dont you think, wont it be too late?

Both of us went our ways without even a murmur
as though, to each other, we were doing a favour.
Though once i prove myself, for you, i'll wait
yet, by then, dont you think, wont it be too late?

Changes in you, in this period, could be umpteen
that it will be like a new person,in you, i've seen .
What if you think that for you, iam no longer great
for both,by then, dont you think, wont it be too late?

Something in my mind, now itself is out to foretell
that of my hopes, you are going to sound the death knell.
All that i can do now is stop feeling, on me, irate
and stop asking, dont you think, wont it be too late?
